August....seriously, August!

Anyone else realize that it's August 1st??  It's even 8pm here which is practically midnight, which might as well be Aug 2nd...which means August might as well be half over and then it's LABOR DAY! Holy Moly....seriously. That's what it feels like!  It's August already!  I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking "where did the summer go?" but either way, it's here. Time to embrace it.

I spent most of today at school, but not exactly in my room.  I did manage to redo the bulletin space above the ancient chalkboard and put up my birthday signs.  Trust me, that was tedious work.  AND I only got a little chatty and distracted but it was well worth it.  Our building has several new faces so I made sure to check in often and make sure we weren't all stressing out...yet!

I am soooo excited for this school year.  Without going into too much details on here, our staff is pretty solid, close, and definitely kid-oriented. I feel this year we have a great team that is eager to get started and the vibe around the building is definitely positive. Not that it hasn't been in the past, there's just something different about this year.  I imagine our leadership has a lot to do with it but either way, I'm looking forward to this year.  I foresee HUGE things happening in our building!

So onto my room. As I left today, I took some classroom pictures...just for the blog.  My room isn't done, so don't judge. There are still boxes, empty and half-done bulletins, and piles and piles and piles.  But here's the room. I hope the pictures make sense!
