Now that I've gotten supplies and the ideas and the time...seems like I've been crafting a lot. Or maybe it's teh only teacherly thing I can do to that doesn't involve curriculum planning, I'm not sure.
Linking up with the weekly Monday Made-It over at 4th Grade Frolics today!

So for this link up I'm working on something I saw a friend post on facebook last month. I decided I wanted something similar and so I jumped in and did my own version.
It's a student check-in/out system. Each student in my class has a class number which is wrtten on a magnet. As they leave the room (nurse, reading recovery, SPED, etc) they'll move their magnet to the appropriate section on the board. SO SIMPLE! this way when we have our lock-down drills or fire drills I know where each kiddo is without having to think toooo hard. Dont judge the undone-ness of the the labels, I still don't know who some of our new teachers are and will eventually print in some amazing font then tape onto the board.
I'l probably hang mine on the inside of the door or maybe on the wall next to it, not sure yet. If you make one, let me know!
Directions: Use E6000 glue to adhere mini magnet to back of flat marble. Use Sharpie or mini-duct tape to create lines. Cover edges with duct tape and hang!
See? Super easy :)
How do YOU manage kiddos leaving the room so often? I'm thinking this will be great!
Head to 4th grade frolics and check out other nifty projects for teh week!
Love this! What a simple way to keep track of kiddos!
ReplyDelete3 other teachers in my little building talked about making one too! I think we have a keeper! :)

Hi! I'm stopping by from Monday Made It! I had an idea in mind for keeping track of students being gone, but it doesn't allow for more than one or two to be out of the room. This would help keep track of students who are just gone to the office, nurse, or other classrooms as well. Thanks for sharing!
