Monday Made It

Finally I manage to do a Monday made it! woohoo! Although I'm not too crazy about this project, I wanted to do it and I got it done.  Still, excited to link up with 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made-It!

And now I can say I did a Monday Made It. I've been wanting to get some of these projects done forever and this one was one that I felt I could get done during naptime.  I tell ya, doing craft projects with an almost (2 days away) 4 year old and a 1 year old is DIFF.I.CULT.  Seriously.    I think I have 5 projects that are started...lamps, banners, this flower thing, posters, and flower jars.  Each of those needs something critical to be purchased or a longer timespan of work time or needs me to be in the classroom.  EEEK, not sure I"ll ever get them done in time!  I have 3 weeks before I HAVE to be in the classroom, so maybe I can whip up one project a week from here on out.  *wishful thinking....*

Anyways, here's the first Monday Made It on Cantrell's Got Class.  A tissue paper flower. *everyone ooooh and ahhhh*. This sucker is HUGE! I didn't realize it would be about 2feet wide. Not complaining, but wow, it's big.   This took 2 packages of hot pink wrapping paper (12 sheets total) and about 20 minutes of interrupted time...yes I said interrupted.  HooBear thought she was helping, but she wasn't.  She was super excited to hold it up and smile for the camera though. (Hard to believe she's almost FOUR! Soon will be kindergarten...sniffle sniffle....)

I had intentions of making several of these for my classroom in the bright blue/green/pink colors instead of buying the lanterns, mainly for moneys-sake.  But I'm just not sure now.  It'll at least work for her birthday party this weekend :) WOOHOO, double whammy use out of a project. Can't beat that.

  1. That's super cute! It would be cute to make some of those for my new classroom... did you follow directions from somewhere?? And I totally get the difficulties of getting anything done with kids! I have an almost 2 year old--I feel the pain!
